Play within your limits

Treat gambling as paid entertainment, not a way to make money. Only stake what you can comfortably afford to lose, set yourself a budget and a time limit before you start, and never chase losses. Avoid playing while stressed, upset or under the influence.

Tools you can use

• Deposit limits — cap how much you can deposit per day, week or month.
• Loss and wager limits — set a ceiling on losses or total stakes over a period.
• Session reminders — receive an on-screen prompt after a set time at play.
• Time-out (cooling-off) — lock your account for a short break of 24 hours up to several weeks.
• Self-exclusion — exclude yourself for a longer fixed period or permanently.

You can set most limits yourself from your account, or ask our Help Centre team to apply them. A reduction takes effect quickly; an increase is subject to a cooling-off delay.

Warning signs

It may be time to pause if you gamble more than you intended, borrow money or sell things to fund play, hide your gambling from others, feel anxious or guilty about it, or chase losses to win back what you have lost. Recognising these signs early makes them easier to manage.

Self-exclusion

Self-exclusion blocks access to your account for the period you choose. During that time we will not knowingly send you marketing, and you should also consider third-party blocking tools that restrict gambling across many sites and apps.

Protecting minors

Gambling is strictly for those aged 18 and over. If others share your device, use parental-control software and keep your login details private. More on our checks is on the Over 18 Only page.
